Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage, these are the things that hold our Army together. Everyone knows them, but does anyone really understand the importance of these terms. They are lectured over and over again in basic combat training. They are meant to define your character as a soldier and hold as the blueprint to a successful mission of becoming a dependable leader. Regardless if you’re on or off work, these 7 values will keep you in good standing. First off is Loyalty, (a strong feeling of support or allegiance). As a soldier you have the commitment of defending the United States Constitution, Your Army, Your unit protecting the rights of the people. You have to always do what is right. People will respect that you are a honest person. Many things have gone wrong in the past because of people not telling the truth. Everyone makes mistakes, and it can make things harder to fix when you lie about them. Accept your punishment, learning from it, telling the truth is the best option. As your self-control and integrity increases, it shows a positive moral and the people around you will trust what it is that you are doing, also your measure of integrity will determine the amount of trust that all of your peers have in you. The more you practice and exercise integrity the more it will affect you relationship with family and/or friends and it will eventually give you the tools to actually trust in yourself. Doing the right then even when no one is looking. You are supposed to do the right thing regardless of the circumstance. You do it just because it is the right thing to do, adapting a trait like integrity can take you a long way in the eyes of the people around you.
