In a society where it is socially acceptable to sacrifice principle for the sake of personal gain, integrity is a rare and important trait that influential leaders should have. To me, Integrity means that one makes the morally right decision even if it does not immediately benefit him. Likewise, a person with integrity refrains from wrong decisions not out of fear of the consequences, but out of principle. In contrast, a leader without integrity sets a precedent for the people below him that it is justifiable to lie, cheat, and deceive to further advance their career or social status. I believe that in order to develop a reputation of integrity, one must comprehend the universal reason that these moral laws exist. If a leader does not understand …show more content…
A charismatic leader uses enthusiasm and charm to influence people to pursue an objective as passionately as he is. As I previously stated, followers tend to match the character and actions of their leader. For example, if a team captain can successfully communicate to his teammates to play the game with the intention to win, and demonstrates it, then the teammates will follow his lead and play to win. Therefore, along with having integrity, a successful leader should also have strong charisma. An individual develops charisma by being people oriented. In order to know which words to say to another person to inspire them to work diligently, a leader must understand the variety of different personalities, and how each one responds to certain scenarios. Along with being well spoken, people with charisma have a talent for alternating tone and body position to match the mood of an audience. In essence, charisma can develop in a person who learns how different people respond, and how to interpret it into his remarks and movements.
