I believe that honesty is the fundamental behavior to acting with integrity and that we should be honest with each other in every circumstance. Being an honest person fits the core values of both my religion and my culture as well. From my work experience, there has been moments when I could not be completely honest. When I first started my position in my private firm, I was asked to under report my working hours. From my firm’s standpoint, they could pay me less money without trouble. Many people mistake the word “integrity” to hold the same weight as the word “honesty;” however, Oxford Dictionary defines integrity as: “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.” Therefore, we can conclude that being honest is only a part of having integrity, so just because someone says what he or she means, doesn’t mean that this person has integrity. In “The Insufficiency of Honesty,” Stephen L. Carter discusses the misconception that many people have about the difference between honesty and integrity by presenting examples of how people that are completely honest lack a sense of moral behavior. Through a clearly reasoned discussion, Carter raises some insightful points about how honesty alone cannot make someone or some action morally correct.…

”Todays prosecutors have tremendous power through their daily discretionary decisions” (Ingram, 2017, pg. 337). According to Pollock (2017), prosecutors have ethical codes they must follow, the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct; but they rarely receive sanctions for not following these rules. Based on the professional code of responsibility, a prosecutor announcing the name of any involved in a case to the media, would be a violation of ABA Model Rule 3.6(b) (Pollock, 2017). “The rule states that no statements should be given involving topics, such as the character, credibility, reputation, or criminal record of a party, suspect, or witness, the identity of a witness, expected testimony, test results, physical evidence, or any inadmissible…

According to NPPA code of ethics, a photojournalist must follow set of rules in his/her work. For example: “Do not manipulate images or add or alter sound in any way that can mislead viewers or misrepresent subjects.” (2) However, McCurry claims he is a visual storyteller not a photojournalist (3), which indicated the set of code of ethics do not apply to him. For this season, I support McCurry’s explanation. If McCurry is a photojournalist, he definitely violated the ethical conduct.…

To add to Mason’s post, professional judgment and personal judgment differ only in the basis of the norms used to make decisions upon. Each judgment uses rules to base their decisions upon except that professional judgment calls for a specific end user to be focused on. In accounting, that end user is referred to as the public. A distinguishing mark, if not the distinguishing mark, of a public accountant, on the other hand, is that the accountant’s primary obligation is to the public, and in a broader sense to the truth – the accuracy and veracity of the financial statements with which they deal (Duska, Duska, & Ragatz, 2011, p .82). In addition to this, the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct highlights professional competence as in actions…

Someone who displays true integrity does not act honestly and sincerely just in easy situations, but also in the most difficult. Integrity is a value everyone should strive to perfect both professionally and personally.…

One intellectual standard that I have experienced most recently is clarity. I have witness so many times sitting in a brief, and the Boss begins to throw out these acronyms that no one knows what he’s talking about, but himself. But as I look around the room I notice everyone has these perplexed looks on their faces, and at the same time nodding their heads in agreement. So without skipping a beat, I asked the question and watch in amazement as the facial expressions begin to lighten because they now understand what he’s talking about. Which also ties into my next intellectual standard, significance.…

Where the shared resources are limited to common audit methodology or audit manuals, with no exchange of personnel or client or market information, it is unlikely that the shared resources would be considered to be significant. The same applies to a common training endeavor. Where, however, the shared resources involve the exchange of people or information, such as where staff are drawn from a shared pool, or a common technical department is created within the larger structure to provide participating firms with technical advice that the firms are required to follow, a reasonable and informed third party is more likely to conclude that the shared resources are…
