Integrated Leadership Reflection

I am seeking admission to the Region One Integrated Leadership Program because I am now pursuing a leadership role in administration to better help our educators better serve our children. I have been working as a 5th grade teacher for 7 years now and at the end of each school year I reflect on my growth as their educator and my student’s growth and their learning. As a future administrator I strongly believe that in order to achieve results one must be able to analyze student data base on their benchmark assessments, and create a plan of action to see results, and immediately convey this with their teachers. I am seeing admission into the leadership program to also learn how to effectively analyze data, identify root causes, and find a solution. I am interested on learning how to effectively manage educators so they can in return be effective in their teachings …show more content…
Within my years in the classroom I have seen my share of ineffective leaders, our campus wasn’t seeing the results they desired, our teachers were unhappy, parents were unhappy, and students were unmotivated to do well. I believed our lack of administration played a huge role in this. I no longer want to sit back and see our students and staff just get by another school year. I want to be their leader/administrator who believes their student’s will succeed, and I want to lead a staff that believes they can achieve any campus goals they set, I want to be the leader that parent’s admire for all our hard work and compassion with their student’s. An effective leader will set campus goals, monitor teachers throughout the school year, provide teachers with effective feedback that can be implemented in a timely manner, and provide them with the necessary tools.
