I say this because on page 615 it talks about monitoring comprehension means you as a teacher are actively involved at all times so you can spot it out and correct it. The problem we see in many adolescent readers is that they fail to understand what they read, and why they read. I think Mrs. Berenda does a good job monitoring the class and really catches the students when they are struggling. I specifically remember during the ask question part where she asked a group what their question was. When she noticed them struggling. She turned to the book, and showed the group why their question wasn’t necessarily wrong she explained how she went deeper in the text to get a more specific question, and why this was better than their vague question. After this she went on to explain to the class why reading closely is important because if you ask questions during a book, or text you start to comprehend the material better. As an upcoming teacher, I like to see that teachers still care about their students, and don’t get mad when their students are having trouble, instead she takes the time to explain to the whole class, why something is wrong that way everyone gets the rights answer and there is less confusion in the
