The primary object that is needed is a pencil. Otherwise, how else would one illustrate the drawings? Different types of pencils will be available. It will be the drawer’s decision on which one to choose. A simple type to start with would be a regular number two graphite pencil. The more progress that is made in this process, the more variety of pencils will be available for experimentation. Another material required would include paper. Once again, different types of paper are available. There is no particular kind to be used, but it would later help to try a few different textures and sizes of paper just so that the drawer will have more a broad impression. Daily practice of small doodles and sketches is all it takes to get an understanding and feel of how drawing works. Just portraying a few simple geometric shapes will help improve the necessary skills needed. Art is all about shapes. Without it, there would be no formulations and artwork. After getting a few shapes like circles, squares, triangles and rectangles down on the paper, add more structure to the model. Make it look more three-dimensional. Now this may take some practice, but it will help by giving more expanded recognition in terms of shapes.
