Introduction to Institutional Response: Thank you for reviewing East Carolina University’s (ECU’s) “Institutional Response” to the site visit report of our Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counseling and Administration, Rehabilitation and Clinical Counseling Concentration, program, housed in ECU’s College of Allied Health Sciences, application for Extending CACREP accreditation Doctoral Rehabilitation Counselor Education programs under the CACREP 2016 accreditation standards for doctoral programs.

Our program started the assessment/evaluation processes in 2005. Students are evaluated based on dispositional standards and structured protocols, which facilitate students’ professional development from beginning as a new student to progressing through courses, passing comprehensive examinations, proposing the dissertation study, and defending the dissertation. Likewise, over 70% of the student evaluations occur during the first three years of their program and almost 85% of evaluations occur during the first four years of their program. The PPR descriptive statistics indicated that doctoral students received six or seven evaluations over the course of their programs (Table 1; Appendix C).
