Even though hospital and school dietary departments are similar they are totally different. Hospitals and schools have similar dietary departments. They are both institutional food services. They have dietary managers who are responsible for planning the menus and working with a budget. It is hard sometimes to make the menus according to specific guidelines, or keep with in the budget but still have nutritious meals. The serving portions have to be exact portions, such as meat they get 2-4oz a serving. Hospitals and schools serve a large amount of people. In a hospital they can serve anywhere between 150 to 200 people. In a school they can serve anywhere between 200 to over 500 people. In both institutions the food
