Instagram feeds people who want attention. A Narcissist is someone who feeds off of attention and social popularity. Instagram lets anyone like your pictures so it just gives a person satisfaction of being popular. Egotistical people often get addicted to Instagram because of their egos. The attention from likes and comments from Instagram feeds their egos People become obsessed with followers, likes and comments because it makes them feel good about themselves. Also in some case people become obsessed with Instagram because they are not happy.
According to psychologist, people who are not happy might always keep looking for an outlet to relieve stress.. The less the person is satisfied with their lives, the more likely they are to get addicted to Instagram to feel better about their lives; Everyone needs an outlet or a stress reliever. If not, all of their anger, sadness, and problems get bottled up inside them and they eventually burst in an awful way. People who don't like their own looks might need constant reassurance that they look good, because Instagram is all about pictures, those people overindulge in order to raise their self-esteem. There are many psychologists that are willing to help people, mostly those who specialize in this disorder. Many have a picture taking obsession, those people might become obsessed with Instagram as well since it's a medium that allows them to post their pictures. Some people become too obsessed with getting followers that they become Instagram addicts. Those people feel good when they get followers, and as a result, they become obsessed with Instagram. Instagram is making people sick mentally, and it is a huge problem. Instagram shouldn’t be a problem anyway, the popular app is only supposed to be an app to post pictures and videos not to be a full blown
