Let us first define what inspiration means. Inspiration is the “work of the Holy Spirit in enabling the human authors of the Bible to record what God had desired to have written in the Scriptures” (Grenz, Guretzki, Nordling, 1999, pg. 66). Hodge adds this, the scriptures “are therefore infallible and of divine authority in all things pertaining to faith and practice, and consequently free from all error whether of doctrine, fact, or precept” (2013, pg. 152). These two defitions make it clear what is meant when the word inspiration is used.
