What is Insomnia? Insomnia is a sleeping disorder that causes one to lose a substantial amount of sleep. It is also described in the way that people not only lose sleep but just have trouble falling asleep. Some speculate that insomnia is an outcome of someone 's work schedule or lifestyle (National Alliance on Mental Health). Insomnia can affect a person in a variety of ways. A person can speculate that they are experiencing insomnia if the symptoms are prevalent.
People who believe they have Insomnia should be tested and diagnosed. There are many symptoms of insomnia and some of them can be dangerous and even life threatening. Some symptoms include drowsiness, irritability, and depression. Treatment for insomnia varies depending on the person, but there are numerous treatments that can be used to help you get over or reduce the effects.
How insomnia is caused is known but there are always more factors that scientists do not know about. There is a very broad range to how insomnia is caused. Many believe that insomnia is caused by the amount of stress one puts on himself and in some cases the pressure others put on a person. Although many believe this, others would agree that depression and anxiety are also major components in having this disease (National Alliance on Mental Health).
