Landscape can have a wide range of different categories and in the essay the author will mainly focus on the landscape processed by human factors. Landscape, in the context of a place where human live in generally resonates with the concept of 'dwelling' brought up by Heidegger (1971). The process of dwelling is actually an interactive process between the human dwellers and the force of the nature that evolves towards a harmonious status ideally. The former are part of the expression of the landscape itself while the latter are the ones who generate feedbacks and subjective impressions on landscape (Casey, 1998). The latter is psychologically distant from the essentials of the landscape so that they view it with a more objective perspective since they do not belong as part of it and therefore landscape transforms into a sort of scenic view to them solely, and the process of viewing the landscape becomes a very artistic one. Consequently, in realms such as human geography and phenomenology, they particularly emphasize the importance of the element of human being part of the landscape as insiders, which echo with Jackson's (1984) comprehension on landscape. From this view, the role of insiders is attached with much importance since insiders do not look at landscape merely as a target for viewing and criticizing but to live in it themselves since it is the surrounding societal environment of their life. Insiders thus do not take an isolated perspective to understand the landscape they live in; they rather treat it as an important part of an organic integrity that includes their entire life (Forman, 1995).
