Young wanted the readers to know that the shack relates a lot to stuff he has been through in his life and some stuff in the book reveals what his life was like. In the online article, William Paul Young: A Look Inside The Shack, William young said the reason he used the title the shack, “The Shack will tell you much more about me than a few facts ever could. In some ways, my life is partly revealed in the characters” (Young 8).

What did you like about this script? I thought the writer’s take on the Hand of Glory myth was interesting and I liked that the writer made it a hand of a witch and not that of a thief as it is commonly believed to be. I would have liked it if the writer expanded on their perspective of the hand a bit more and explained why most believed the hand aided thieves to steal when in each flashback those that come in contact with the hand are all killed.…

Early in Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck's stark , barebones description of the bunkhouse setting indirectly characterizes the ranch hands as institutionalized, rootless men, oblivious to their own isolation. Although the "long, rectangular building" serves as home for several men, the "whitewashed" walls and "unpainted" floor betray a sterile, institutional holding area.…

The first paragraph is strictly a description of the physical setting of the farm, filled with descriptive devices that help to really seat the reader in the scene. Steinbeck does not simply use colors and physical shapes to describe the scene, he personifies the mountains as they "stood up against the sky. " He compared the farm buildings to aphids clinging to a plant in the way that they cling to the rocky, shallow soil. He also describes the shack and the barn as being "grey-bitten with sea salt" to give the setting some history and the feeling of being attacked and worn down by the weather and the power of nature over the years.…

    Religion In The Shack

The Shack presents an immensely personal perspective of the Christian faith. Organized religion can sometimes put a dampener on a person’s personal relationship with God. The Shack represents how our own views shape our religious experience the most; not the Church’s cut and paste version. An example of Mack’s own personal views are the forms the holy trinity takes as God as an African American woman, the Holy Spirit as an Asian woman, and Jesus as a Hebrew man (Young 84). Even to some ‘establishment’ Christians, simply suggesting God taking the form of a human other than in Jesus is highly offensive.…

The book is a great tool to really take a grasp of what Biblical theology is because of the fact of the simple reading it has. It really breaks it down step by step on what it’s talking about and gives you examples to relate to the Old Testament. The diction is really well thought out, not too many big words, but enough to get you into the reading. The time line of the book really doesn’t have a meaning, it goes more by topics the writer wanted to introduce first and goes from there. He also uses a lot of bible references to back his points up, seems like in just about every page there was at least three different bible scriptures in parentheses.…
