Inside Out displays five out of the seven universal emotions. The movie left out surprised and contempt. The five emotions work in Riley’s head in a place known as “headquarters,” which is also Riley’s emotional control center. “Headquarters” does actually somewhat exist in our minds. It is known as the limbic system. The limbic system is run by our emotions and is our real version of headquarters. In the movie, Riley’s emotions have all the power; however, this is not how the brain actually works. The pre-frontal cortex in the brain gives us the power to decide what to do without emotions. Emotions do not have absolute control like in the movie. Additionally, the personality development in Inside Out was not accurate. Riley has five personality
