Inquiry II Writer’s Letter My goal for this paper was to show that this poster’s message was different than what I thought Student Health should be saying. I picked apart logos, pathos, and ethos and gave them their own separate sections of the paper, to cut down on repetition. Before I analyzed at all, though, I established a clear base to get on the same page as the reader. In one of the Rhethawks readings I figured out that you can’t just dive in to an argument when the reader doesn’t have a clear idea of what the topic looks like. I wrote that little description in the order that people’s eyes saw what was on it. I grabbed a few random people in the library and showed it to them, and had them write down the order of things they saw on it. I think the order is important because some people only glance, and only see the first thing their eye hits. I think this topic worked for me because I was able to be descriptive about something. I had lots of material to describe, and lots of choices to analyze. Honestly I’m not sure what I would do differently if I had to write this over.
