This dangerous mindset creates discrimination, hatred, and a culture that is cultivated by fear. On the day the United Airlines flight 175 was hijacked, my religion was too. Since then, Islam has become the scapegoat for any act of violence in this country, and my beautiful religion was portrayed as a vilified one. The animosity that many of us have towards Muslims is outright discriminatory. The mainstream media, in the attempt to cultivate fear in this nation, is blinding people with this fog of Islamophobia.…

Fareed Zakaria GPS Response The December 6th episode of Fareed Zakaria GPS touched on the strategies the U.S. is taking to contain terrorism, the stereotypes Americans have of certain minority groups (specifically Muslims), and how one group’s music is countering the horrifying attacks by ISIS that took place in Paris. Mr. Zakaria first sat down to interview President Obama’s national security advisor, Susan Rice, on what the path U.S. is planning to take to prevent any further ISIS acts of terrorism is. Rice claimed that this organization has shown it is capable of attacking territory outside of Syria and Iraq, and that the methods America is using are so far fairly successful. However, the problem beyond our control is the propaganda seen on social media that has been used to recruit foreign soldiers.…

Radicalization is “the psychological process of adopting extremist positions (White).” It’s broken down into six-steps: “alienation, one alienated person meets another, group gravitates toward religion, interpret the religion in militant terms, militant group meets a terrorist contract, and they join forces (White).” According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation Counterterrorism Division it is a smooth process where not all individuals become radicalized extremists. The average person seeking to pursue the Islamic faith is not converted simply by pure interest (Counterterrorism Division ). More likely that not it takes some sort of outside encouragement to reach the point of extremism.…

Most murder victims in America are usually black people slaughtered by their own, magazine The Economist says, “Blacks represent 13% of America’s population, yet in 2015 they represented 52% of the slain.” Until now there is not an answer to why young black americans tend to be the ones being affected by this the most, whilst men from other ethnicities do not deal with such problems. The answer lies with a combination of poverty, family imbalance, epidemic of drug use in the wretched inner-urban center districts into which many total darkness s were corral by racialist housing policy, and bad, or non-existent, policing. The last of these, which may be the most important, extends far beyond occasional instances of police brutality.…

The military conquests or wars of expansion were motivated by the numerous efforts to abolish paganism among the Arabic peoples and include Arabia into a region under the control of Medina’s political power. The Muslim community was united by their devotion to God and commitment to political consolidation in these efforts. In addition, the wars of expansion were also fueled by commitment of the community to the concept of jihad. While the initial concept of jihad did not include aggressive warfare against pagans or non-Muslims, holy war was sometimes used by Muslims whose understanding of the Koran allowed them such actions. Nonetheless, jihad contributed to some of the early conquests of the Islamic religion in regions outside the Arabian…

Domestic terrorism is becoming an increasingly prominent issue due to American’s being radicalized by opinions of ISIS and other terrorist groups over the internet. This simple sharing of opinions is thought to have radicalized the San Bernardino shooters, who killed 14 innocent Americans, while they resided in America. Though it is rare and is more simple than one person saying ‘Americans deserve to die’ and another immediately agreeing, the problem of radicalized Americans is causing the loss of American lives. Our country’s stability and safety is completely threatened by domestic terrorism, so we cannot afford to have any radical opinions considered by anyone. If an opinion can lead to the end of a life, we need to draw the line and prevent the opinion from…
