America should intervene with ISIS by increasing support of Iraqi security services, working on terrorism prevention, providing help to ISIS victims, and using airstrikes. “The United States has the greatest military in the world and is the only country capable of such action.” (Document B) This supports the fact that the United States is probably one of the only countries that has a chance of taking down ISIS or at least lessening the presence of ISIS in other countries. " With U.S. assistance they (the Kurds) can help Iraq decisively roll back ISIS’s position in northern Iraq.”…

People fear what they do not know. Ignorance breeds intolerance. In this very moment, intolerant hands and minds are bringing about the victimization and dehumanization of a citizen of this world. In most recent news, an executive order in the United States of America was made calling for a temporary ban on visas for individuals from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen and Somalia; a 120-day suspension of the resettlement of all refugees; and an indefinite ban on the resettlement of Syrian refugees. Due to the very respectable and reasonable viewpoints of each side, I am undecided as to whether the United States should accept Syrian refugees. For moral and humanitarian reasons, it is without question that our country, whom these helpless people view as a safe place, should accept them and provide comfort and protection. However, it is also reasonable that the United States does not want to put any of their citizens in danger, which may possibly accompany the refugees. Even if just one of the thousands of refugees is a terrorist or dangerous figure, that is unacceptable.…

Every country has their own problems: that is what their government is for. When a country officially asks for help is one thing, but it is a whole other subject when another country forcefully plows its way into a war with a terrorist sect on foreign soil. According to Neta Crawford from Watson Institute, we know that approximately 165,000 civilians have died from direct war related violence caused by the US through April 2015. The violent deaths of Iraqi civilians have occurred through aerial bombing, shelling, gunshots, and fires started by bombing.
