How can we permit using innocent children to fight in these gruesome wars? Joseph Kony and the LRA are still abducting innocent children for their war with no purpose. This letter is to plead you to continue with your funding and efforts to capture Kony and give these innocent children justice
To start with, let me explain a little about the background, it first began in the 1980’s as the Holy Spirit Movement(HSM), led by Alice Lakwena. She claimed that the HSM was going to overthrow the Ugandan government. Then six years later in 1986, when Alice was kicked out of the country, a man claiming to be Alice’s cousin took over and changed it to the Lord’s Resistance Army(LRA). When previous followers became aware of Kony’s violence, he was forced to abduct children. He would first brainwashed them with drugs and violence to kill and fight in his meaningless wars. The first one is what President Obama was him deploying 100 US advisers to central Africa. Three years later in 2014 Obama announced that he would be expanding the LRA efforts with the deployment of four V-22 Osprey military aircraft. This was very helpful but you should do more. I am very appreciative for what you have done and hope you continue putting this world problem to an end.
How can you improve this mission? You can help even more if you send more advisors and more equipment. Use money to set up rehabilitation centers to get the kids back where they belong. You could also help rebuild their communities to get them back on their feet. In the meantime help the children by hiding them from the LRA.
