The boys at the beginning lost a lot of their innocence when they killed a momma pig. The boys showed a lot of violence and aggression in killing the pig. Later in the book at one of their tribal meetings the children killed a young boy. You could really imagine the violence and aggression that was in the kids, yelling and screaming about killing. One of the last ways the boys lost their innocence was there changing of clothing apparel. The boys began to strip their clothes all the way down to being half naked.
