Wallace’s “good people “introduces us to an inner conflict many people face , am I a good person , one might think , but what defines a good person , what makes you an upright being , the story offers a variety of interpretations . the first one that comes to mind when you start reading the story, is an image of a religious person, a righteous soul, someone who goes to church every Sunday, donates money and clothes to the less fortunate, does not condone acts of misbehavior such as lying and stealing, “He was desperate to be good people, to still be able to feel he was good” (Wallace, 151).
