In Dateline’s episode called “The Last Dance,” victim Heather Jones disappeared and later was found dead and burnt by her husband, Chris Jones. Chris had an appearance of an average white male, one who was skinny and average build. He had no problems of schizophrenia, or any types of mental disorder that would cause for a reason of mental disturbances. Overall, the whole murder was an emotional turmoil. I do not believe there is such thing as a “criminal type,” mostly because appearance does not always play a role when it comes to criminal. I believe crimes happens due to sudden bursts of emotions. In this case, the victim Heather had lost tremendous amount of weight which led Chris

In the first episode I watched called, “The Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” there were three suspects that killed one man. One was a white female with orange hair, average build, another was black man who was gay, bald, average build and the last suspect was a white male, chubby build, and wears glasses. In the second episode, “The Gamer in the Grease,” the suspect was a white male, balding, and average build. Overall within these two episodes, the suspects seemed like normal average citizen in which society would not deem a look of a criminal. I believe the show does not go for a typical criminal look, someone who looks aggressive, built, or mean-spirited. Instead they go more for the person who has an emotional reason as to why they committed the crime. It seemed that the show was going for a normal, average person. It also seems like the show wants the audience to understand that anyone, no matter how you look, is able to commit a crime. In these two episodes, it was a personal reason. They were irked by what the victim did, and when it reached a boiling point, they snapped and committed a

In the case of Cindy Countess, I was debating on two out of the four offenders types that she could be classified as: severely mentally ill or enraged parricide offender. There are characteristics of both that Countess falls under. I would say that severely mentally ill fits her best because of her past. As Countess grew older she showed signs of mental illness like her mother and had visited mental health institutions many times. She wasn't able to keep her emotions stable and after being in a psychiatric hospital for eight days she was prescribed Paxil for her depression.…

The quote “Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere” by Martin Luther King Jr. is saying that if people point out injustice in one situation, they will apply that example to other situations elsewhere. This was shown in the Cesar Chavez movie. In the movie I learned that in 1964 a movement was on its way up and the union United Farm Workers Association (UFWA) was formed with 1,000 members, mostly from the workers in the grape farms around Delano. The farm workers wanted better wages and better working and living conditions so, in August 1965, a strike of Mexican and Filipino grape workers in Delano caught the leader of the United Farm Workers Association, Cesar Chavez’s attention. An even larger strike led by the Filipinos against all the…

Personality and mental traits is something that cannot be changed in one way or another. Cox because of all of his problems with schooling, his rough childhood, and family displacement, went through lot of psychological changes that made him to become a killer. Being able to kill kids while they sleep, and massacre four people in one morning leave a possibility that someone who went through a lot of bad in his life has nothing to loose. Cox due to his psychological state, and the fact that he used crack while committing the crime clearly exposes someone who has nothing to loose.…

The personality theory discovered by Ferri suggests that the offenders are violent towards their partners due to the various types of personality styles and psychological characteristics such as mentioned borderline personality disorder (Dutton & Starzmoski, 1993).
