I believe athletes should use their fame to promote a political agenda because they are standing up for themselves. When athletes ever stand up for themselves and a group of people, it gives others who also have the same opinion, a voice that the government or political group may hear allowing a change. Also when athletes use their fame to promote a political agenda or any type of matter, it’s showing how athletes care and have opinion about a serious matter that they may or may not agree with. For example, Jackie Robinson did not stand, sing the national anthem, or salute the flag due to the injustice he experienced everyday from his teammates who were racist, and made him feel marginalized because he was a black man.
