Teresa Giudice Character Analysis

Teresa Giudice is a cast member on the popular Bravo reality television series, Real Housewives of New Jersey. The show follows Giudice, as well as several other women and focuses on their personal lives. It premiered in September of 2009. Teresa and her husband Joe, as well as their four daughters, all entered the public spotlight as the show gained notoriety. In October 2009, the Giudice’s filed for bankruptcy. Hints of trouble were seen on the show when a friend of Teresa’s began asking questions about her legal woes, causing a falling out between the two castmates. On July 29, 2013, Teresa and Joe were “charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud, and bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications, and bankruptcy …show more content…
She released a statement which said, “Today is a most difficult day for our family. I support Joe and, as a wonderful husband and father, I know he wants only the best for our lovely daughters and me. I am committed to my family and intend to maintain our lives in the best way possible, which includes continuing my career. As a result, I am hopeful that we will resolve this matter with the Government as quickly as possible”. The show depicted Teresa getting very upset when anyone asked her about the situation. Before she was sentenced, she responded to most questions by saying that legally, she was not allowed to comment. When she ultimately sentenced, she spoke at the hearing and said, “My daughters are my life. I’m more sorry than anyone will ever know. I will make this right no matter what. I’m really scared I need to learn to do things for myself. It’s time for me to wake up”. Less than a week after receiving their sentences, both Joe and Teresa appeared on Watch What Happens Live, a late night talk show hosted by Bravo producer and personality, Andy Cohen. Teresa was accused by viewers of still not taking responsibility for what had happened. The Giudice’s had hired a crisis communications professional, but she ended up quitting after the Giudice’s repeatedly did not take her advice. It seems pointless to hire a professional and then not take any of their advice. Teresa still wasn’t taking full responsibility for …show more content…
She probably should have taken the professional’s advice. I believe going on Watch What Happens Lives so quickly after the sentencing was a good choice. They were able to get their messages out there, and Cohen was probably more fair to him than most interviewers would have been. Cohen has a personal relationship with them and clearly felt bad for Teresa. Other interviewers probably would have been much harsher. Cohen also knew Teresa and this situation would be good for ratings, and needed to remain in Teresa’s good graces. This situation did hurt Teresa’s reputation. Many cruel jokes were made and she was the target of the tabloids for months on end. Yet, I think it turned out as positive as it could have for Teresa. I believe people really empathized with Teresa because she was a mother. Real Housewives of New Jersey went on a hiatus while Teresa was in prison, which I believe really shows you how essential she is to the show’s success. Bravo did air a three-part special titled, Teresa Checks In, which filmed how the Giudice’s were coping with life without Teresa. Upon being released from prison, Giudice released a best selling book, “Turning The Tables”. She has filmed two seasons of the show since being released and is signed on to do another season. So although Teresa’s reputation may have been tarnished, it seems as though she has become even more famous and his been monetize this situation. From this

I had never heard of “Cristela” before having to watch it for class. The first two episodes are quite comical and I was sorry to read on IMDB that the show only aired for one season before being canceled. An interesting fact about “Cristela” is that Cristela Alonzo, the star of the show, “is the first Latina to create, produce, write, and star in her own primetime comedy” (“All Jokes Aside,” 2014). Another fact about the show is that every single character is based off someone that Cristela Alonzo knows (Saraiya, 2014).…

Although I do believe that Casey Anthony was involved in the murder of her child, I'm not sure if she actually killed her daughter. One of the main reasons for this belief, is that Anthony’s statements are riddled with lies and discrepancies. For instance on June 9, 2008 Casey claims that her daughter, Caylee, has gone missing. Later on she states that she dropped Caylee off with the babysitter, that didn't exist.…

During the late sixteenth century, witch hunts were gaining momentum. Women and some men were being accused of performing witch craft and were sent to trial. In the play “The Crucible” written by Arthur Miller we see many themes and lessons in the story. The main theme is focussed on deceit and lying and how lies can lead down a dark road which results in the ruin of many. The Crucible is a fictional play based on the Salem Witch Trials which occurred between February 1692 and May 1693 and resulted in over 150 people being accused of witchcraft and 20 executed. The story focusses on the story of John Proctor and Abigail Williams, his niece, and how lies, jealousy, revenge, and deep seated feuds caused a community to turn on each other in a vicious circle of accusations and misunderstandings.
