Though he was not successful in his mission because Apollo is a prophecy God, he was able to know who stole his cattle. In fury anger he tracked down Hermes and brought him to Zeus so he can be punished for his actions and return the cattle back to him. Although Hermes tries to play innocent and denies the whole allegation of stealing from Apollo by saying how can an infant steal some cattle.
