My
Initial Position Statement

Currently, I'm working on Mental
Health Skills-building Service provider (MHSS) and as well as Therapeutic Day
Treatment counselor (TDT).

Mental health skill-building (MHSS). MHSS is a professional counseling position where one is responsible for providing the verity of services to individuals who are mentally ill. This position requires me to work out in community majority of the time.
I’m stationed at the Duel Recovery Center. My clients are categorized from mild to severe mental illness with substance abuse.
I spend about 80% of my day out in the community.

This position includes, but it is not limited to promote healthy nutrition skill training: it is important to train my clients how to make healthier food choices. I’m required to train them on how to read the nutrition facts located on the back of food. Also, provide sessions on financial management skills: trained consumer how to budget funds wisely. I’m responsible for coaching them on how to eliminate non-necessity spending and making grocery list prior to the session and keeping track of total cost while grocery shopping to avoid exceeding their weekly spending. I’m also responsible for coaching them on how to maintain their medical appointments and how to be very responsible for scheduling

TDT is a school-based position where I'm responsible for the students who are experiencing difficulties in school. Rules of thumb are to empower the students along with their parents to keep hope alive and to develop a bright future for themselves. This includes, but it is not limited to promote social skills training, coach students how to make friends without verbal or physical altercation, provide anger management skills training, debrief and de-escalating crisis situations, conduct one on one and group session with the students.
