Decent Essays
Being presented with evidence based articles such as the ones provided by Mr. Jones, influences my teaching by changing my initial patient evaluation process. With this information in hand there are certain characteristics about Mr. Jones that I immediately know about him, such as his level of education and his self-efficacy. These initial pieces of information influence how the session will unfold. The level and complexity at which the conversation and material are delivered are impacted by his educational abilities and interest in his health outcomes.
It is important to acknowledge Mr. Jones’ information as being important, whether he is information literate or not, recognizing his efforts for self-advocating and to self-manage is significant.
