John Doe is a previously homeless, sixty-year-old separated male from Reston, Virginia. The client is half Japanese from his mother’s side and Russian and Scottish from his father’s side. The client views himself as “biracial” and American cultural. His father and mother met and married in Japan when his father was stationed on a military base. When John was young, he lived with his mother after his parent's divorce and his father was no longer in his life. The client does not identify with being Japanese cultural because he states that the community did not accept him being half White. Both of John’s parents are currently deceased. John is the middle child of five siblings and he has two adult children. The client has not had any communication with his wife after their separation. John has completed some college and work in the IT field but is now currently unemployed. The client lives in a townhouse and has three other roommates. …show more content…
John has several missing teeth, several holes on the right side of his shirt, and appears to not have shaven in several days. The client was oriented to person, place, time, and event. The client presented as polite, gave good eye contact, and would shake his right leg constantly when thinking. The client was able to identify and articulate a goal that would improve his quality of life by developing better communication with family and build a positive relationship with his peers. John goal is to work on his anger towards others that he perceives are attempts to disrespect him or take advantage of his kindness. The client is aware of this issue and is eager to work to develop a solution to help relief himself of this
