Aldo and his team arrives to France and starts killing Nazis. It starts with a close up on and American soldier cutting the top a Nazi’s head then a wide shot of them killing German soldiers, and then close ups on individual American soldiers and German victims, then a wide crane shot showing Lt. Aldo sitting and talking to one of the leaders. Everything in that scene was perfect, it does a great job of making me feel the place and all of its details and vibes. It made me feel so engaged, and scared to a certain extent, because of how realistic it was. The choice of doing both quick cuts and normal pacing plays with the audience’s emotions so well. It also does an incredible work delivering the emotions of hate and fear between Lt. Aldo and his enemies in that scene. The choice of low angles to exaggerate and show the power of Lt. Aldo, and the high angles to express the weakness of German soldiers worked very well. Another scene that I enjoyed and thought that worked well was of the Cinema burning down. Shoshanna was giving a message to the Nazis and then told her assistant to “burn it down”. I thought that it was very clever to cut from a close up on Shoshanna on the projector to a close up of her assistant who answered her request and burned the place down, and then cut back to a wide shot to show the fear of Nazis, and then going back and forth between the movie reels burning and the Nazis trying to escape. This shoot too did an excellent
