Introduction: College. The place where it can make you or break you. We can all relate to being excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time once we got to Texas State. We were no longer big bad seniors walking the halls of high school, but scared little freshman walking around this University looking for our class and at one point getting lost. We are all freshman in college, and although we’ve already been here for about 2 months we sometimes still need help on specific things. Although we are currently going through our first semester and only need five more weeks to finish we still need some advice. I’ll admit, at the beginning of the year I didn’t think about doing this because I was really shy and scared of what people would think of me if I would randomly walk up to them and say “Hey my name is Claire be my friend.” I didn’t want people to think of me as a creep. But from the information I got online at collegelife.com now I know and hopefully you know how to socialize with people we meet for the near future.

Point 2: Now that you know about making friends let see how we can get involved in extra activities in college. We tell ourselves that we are too busy or that we don’t want our grades to suffer by getting involved in clubs. We have to explore opportunities if we want to have something to do other than be stuck in our rooms that feel like we’re in a dungeon. Participating in community service, joining a fraternity or sorority, joining a intramural sport, or just getting involved in residence life will not only be a blast but it’s a great way to meet people. According to collegelovetoknow.com joining a club can be the best decision you make during your freshman year. You make memories that will last and develop growing friendship’s. My mistake this semester was that I didn’t join any intramural sports in my residence hall. I thought I wouldn’t have time for it or that I just wouldn’t like it but once I saw my friends join and have a good time I regretted not joining flag football or volleyball.
