Good Moring Mr Fisher and my fellow students. As you know, We have been asked to explain two texts that would be relvent for an anthology. I have choosen two different texts that are different because they are both from different perspective child’s situation but are similar as it contrays the same meaning which has the same message on how war can affect children. Which is that children have also been affected by war throughout history such as world war two, holocaust, Wars in Africa and Afghanistan, etc. And which are also still happening now. War does not only affect the child mentally but also affects the child’s future, dreams and hope.
Today, I will be talking about my two texts which are “Europe Refugee Crisis” By Lauren Collins and “Holocaust” By Barbana Sonek. I believe both are appropriate for an anthology for students to study because it highlights the impact on children in society and the effects on children during war. The first text is Europe Refugee Crisis which is an article about

It also focus on the future effects of war on a child. The first part of the poem Barbana quoted that “we played, we laughed, we were loved” which mentions that as a child every is perfect until war comes and destroys it. The second part of the poem quoted that she was “ripped from the arms of our parents and thrown into the fire”. Which suggest that children are alone in the war with no one protecting them. Imagery and metaphor was mention in the poem to suggest that children were left vulnerable and left to defend themselves. We learn that children in war lose their connection to family and love ones and also we learn that war destroys happiness in children and the lost of their

There is more than just a poignant mood because there are no more children, but it is conveyed that there cannot be growth. Levertov uses this to illustrate that there is no recovery from the bombings, and nothing will be the same ever again. The structure of this poem also adds to this specific effect as it is written in a question and answer format. Levertov deliberately uses two different narrative point of views to emphasize the cultural side. The first speaker just asks questions, which shows the slightly ignorant and naïve side.…

By studying this poem, the ultimate lesson I have learned is the importance of the role of war photographers. I believe that sometimes one image can illustrate better than a thousand words. War photographers witness daily horror. Simultaneously, they are in a position where we can commemorate the things war leaves us behind.…
