If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands! (Applause) If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands (Applause). Please stop and realize that that 's the last time you 'll ever have to hear that phrase. Do you hear me Mr. Solkoff, these children will clap for you no more! We can all say that over the last four years, we have heard enough from people like Mr. Solkoff, Mr. Randle, and Mr. Bassell. Seriously it 's getting a little creepy, when I go to sleep at night, and it gets real quiet, I can still hear Mr. Randle 's voice calling my house inviting me to a PTA meeting that no one will show up to. Maybe someday in the future we all will miss those calls. That makes me reflect on the last four years and every cherished memory that comes …show more content…
It is the first year where you break from that sophomore year cliché of finding your high school identity but instead many of you found your true individual identity. We learned how to articulate our views clearly and take on responsibilities. Many of you began to work at jobs or at prestigious internships either in your communities or in city while at the same time being a student. All of us were tested in the literal sense as we took PSAT’s and SAT’s and how could anyone forget AP’s. No really, our grade was so AP’d out that we might as well have changed our middle names to Advance …show more content…
IF YOU LOVE FRIENDS, YOU WILL SERVE YOUR FRIENDS. IF YOU LOVE COMMUNITY, YOU WILL SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY. IF YOU LOVE MONEY, YOU WILL SERVE YOUR MONEY. AND IF YOU LOVE ONLY YOURSELF, YOU WILL SERVE ONLY YOURSELF. AND YOU WILL HAVE ONLY YOURSELF. SO NO MORE WINNING. INSTEAD, TRY TO LOVE OTHERS AND SERVE OTHERS, AND HOPEFULLY FIND THOSE WHO LOVE AND SERVE YOU IN RETURN.”
There are three groups of people who I can say I serve. The first are my parents. We would not be here without our parents guiding us at home, supporting us financially, and demonstrating what leadership and adulthood looks like through their actions. I know for a fact that I would not be here without my mother teaching me how to write and how to speak while my Dad taught me how to listen and how to understand. To them I say thank you as all of you should do some time

During this semester I personally contributed to my overall success in the PTAP 2310 class by studying consistently and coming prepared to class. I found that having previously read the chapter and notes, I was able to further understand what Dr. Amite was teaching. This also proved to be beneficial if I had trouble understanding a portion of the chapter I could come with questions. I entered this class knowing that my performance and understanding of the information relied heavily on my entrance into the PTA program. Becoming a PTA is so important to me that it kept me driven to have a complete understanding of the material, even when it was most difficult.…

This was the year that allowed to discover that although I wanted to pull my hair out maybe a good 100 times, my class taught me that there is no better thing in life than making others happy and having the ability to surround yourself with those smiles. I realized that even by the smallest role, I can make a difference, and I knew that I wanted to do that for the rest of my life. This experience shaped out what I wanted out of life--…

The First to Succeed Not many people enter college knowing exactly what they want to do for a career or exactly what they want to major in, and if they do, they generally end up changing it. However, because of Blackfoot High School I consider myself one of the few. I know exactly what I want to major in and it is because of the classes and activities that I have been a part of that I am so prepared. BHS is responsible for who I am, who I’m going to become, and most importantly, BHS yearbook is responsible for the career that I have chosen to pursue.…

Among the variety of fraternities, sororities, and clubs that are open to all students of University of California, Riverside, I chose to join Circle K International, a Kiwanis affiliated organization of college and university students which promotes service, leadership and fellowship. Unlike the more well known affiliations within our campus, such as Pi Alpha Phi or Alpha Chi Omega, Circle K of University of California, Riverside does not receive the recognition it deserves, nor the prestige it has earned through service from bettering our community. I actually came to know about this club’s existence back in high school while participating in Key Club, which is the high school level of Kiwanis. Throughout my years of being in Key Club, my…

“Stick to flute” is something I’ve heard from a few people while I was trying new things. Mr. Briem, one of the band teachers, took this the opposite direction and started me on a path to unknowingly end up like him. He encouraged me to explore music; that encouragement drove me in my first three years of high school to develop my musical skills. Briem introduced me to the potential I had for growing musically. He saw something in me that no one else did, and I didn't know at the time, but I’d later draw inspiration from that in a different setting.…

Wise Money Choices + College Costs = Minimal Stress I cannot believe I have made it this far this quickly. It feels like just yesterday when I was accepting my diploma from Mr. Salvatore, my middle school principal and crying while hugging friends who I knew would be attending a different high school than I. Then, on that hot September day, walking through what I thought must have been the biggest school in the state of New Jersey, I got lost, made new friends, and college was but a dwarfed blip on my radar, far, far away from the center of my mind. Subsequently, in tenth grade, Union High School became smaller and my excitement for graduation was planted by the upperclassmen’s conversations about the upcoming prom and graduation.…

Senior year is one that should be unforgettable. It is the one where you start to realize who you are and some find out who they want to become. We grow to know one another as a family, an East High Blue Ace family. High school has taught me countless lessons, like being the most popular is not important at all, getting to know the people you thought you would never talk to is a very favorable experience, and never waste a second on someone who wouldn’t take a bullet for you. There truly is a friend for everyone, you just have to reach out and step out of your comfort zone.…

Legacy Statement When I take a moment to carefully consider and really think about how I want to be remembered at the end of my teaching career, my mind begins to race. My mind leads me to ponder who I am and who I want to be. I immediately begin to fill my thoughts and create a long list of sentences that start with “I want” or “I will”. After careful consideration and performing a close reading of the Statement of Educational Philosophy found in the "Grand Canyon University College of Education Conceptual Framework’, I selected the facets supplied concerning education, and began choosing what the meant the most to me.…

The first day of school is something that is dreaded by most, it is the end of the wonderful time we call summer, it starts months and months of stress and pain, and it means getting up at six every weekday, with about four to six hours of sleep. Once you finally realize that you cannot escape the impending doom that is upon you, it is time to get up and get ready for it. Now school is not that bad, but the first day is one of my least favorite days of the year, I dislike the introductions, the explanations of the classes that you will be stuck with, and the little games that teachers make us play. It makes me feel like a child again and the first day just feels so vile because I know that it is leading to a year’s worth of school. After I finished getting ready for school, I reluctantly get into my car and start driving to school.…

If my mom and dad would have never split up, my mom never would have met my step dad, who showed me that a man could love and care for a child as his own even if they aren’t blood. He spent time with me, bought me nice clothes and toys, and basically spoiled me my entire childhood. He always believed in me, and pushed me beyond my limits, because he saw potential in me. I do not think any less of him because he isn 't my real dad. Another reason I 'm thankful for the way I was raised, is that the home I spent most of my time at led me to believe that everything in life is easy and everyone can have nice possessions and go on fancy vacations, but I learned that was not the case.…

When entering junior high, we were constantly reminded by teachers, parents, and school administrators how different it was from elementary school. It was supposed to be the start of a transition from childhood to young adulthood, and though I discounted many of these sentiments at the time, looking back it certainly was. In an instant, it seemed, everyone started swearing and the hallways began to smell of a putrid mixture of not enough or too much cologne. For the first time we had to change before gym, no one really sure whether it was more socially acceptable to change in a bathroom stall or feign confidence by doing it out in the open. Talk swirled of who got their periods, who was wearing what bra size, and which boys needed to stop cultivating…
