Let's hop right into the provocative life of Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson led a very impactful and important life, but to learn about that you first should know his background and his mindset. Jefferson grew up in a wealthy, plantation owning family, and when he was a teenager his father died leaving him several plantations and a manor house. Jefferson, young and ambitious, chose to make his own manor house for fun. Jefferson proceeded to grow up and mary Martha Skelton, who died ten years later, and have several children. Throughout his life Jefferson prioritized investing in his country and its future. He started off by joining the Continental Congress during the Revolutionary War and writing the Declaration of Independance. Later on during the war he became the governor of Virginia, then went on to take over Benjamin Franklin’s duties as the US Minister to France after the war. Jefferson then later joined Washington’s cabinet, then became vice president.
