I. Texas State Fair has 131 years of history.
1. The fair was established on January 30, 1886 by A group of Dallas businessmen named W.H. Gaston, John S. Armstrong and Thomas L. Marsalis. James B. Simpson.
2. The fair has taken place every year since 1886 except World War I and World War II. It starts last Friday of September and lasts for 24 days.
3. About 3 million of people visit the fair per year from different places and many camp in RV park for days to enjoy.
II. Foods
1. The favorite foods of the fair are Fletcher’s Corny Dogs, Turkey Leg, Frito pies, and Sausage on a stick.
2. Each year, Fair concessionaires make unique, but tasty foods to compete for the titles of “Best Taste-Sweet,” “Best Taste-Savory,” and “Most Creative.” The top ten winners who will compete for the titles are Deep Fried Chicken Noodle Soup on a Stick, Funnel Cake Bacon Queso Burger, Texas Fajita Fries, The Tamale Donut, Fried Texas Sheet Cake, Gulf Coast Fish Bowl, Deep Fried Froot Loops, and Pinot Noir Popcorn.

III. Atrractions
1. The Texas State Fair is the only fair in the U.S. that includes a full auto show of 9 acres of brand new automobiles and 85% of fair goers attend the show.
2. Big Tex, the fair mascot, is 55 feet tall and has become an icon of Dallas and Texas. It was recreated in 2013 after a fire due to an electrical failure in 2012.
