Okapi
I will be talking about the Okapi. I will be talking about what kind of habitat they have and how they live in it plus how the habitat is being hurt. I will also be talking about what kinds of different food they can eat. Plus how they reproduce and what's been cutting down their reproduction. And how we are trying to save them. What the beautiful animal looks like and why people want to kill them. What impact we have on the animal. And finally, how many are left on this Earth, that's what I will be talking about.

Habitat of an Okapi and how they live in it. Their habitat is usually rainy and forest. They mostly found in dense tropical rainforest in the North - Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. How it´s being hurt right now is because they are cutting down the forests which is making the animals able to be seen more by the

But they mostly eat tree leaves , flower buds, grass, ferns, fruit , mushrooms and fungi. But they also love eating berries and many other different kinds of plants. They also eat up to 100 different kinds of plants. But they also eat reddish clay that provides essential salts and small minerals to its daily based diet. Since they are only plant eaters you would call them herbivores. They also can eat toxins that are harmful to humans but it's good for them. That's what kinds of food they eat.

Reproduction of the Okapi is a wonderful thing. They only have one calf and if they have two it's rare and the second calf will probably die within 24 hours. When they turn 2 years of age they are finally able to have a calf for themselves.They also have one calf every four months and they have to wait another year till they can have another calf. The average carrying a baby is about it 14 -16 months carrying it before they can have the baby calf. Most of the calf are born in between August and October. That's how they reproduce and how long they have to carry a baby
