Good afternoon class. My drug is Morphine. Morphine is a pain medication. It is used to treat moderate severe pain. It is a prescription drug. Morphine belongs to a class of drugs called Opioid or narcotic. The effects are in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain. Morphine is given by injection into a vein or a muscle or under the skin.
The major side effects of Morphine include pain, burning, or swelling where the IV is given. More side effects include; Shortness of breath, breathing problems, skin rash, itching, hives, a slow heartbeat, Swelling in the legs, ankles, and feet, and trouble going to the bathroom. Less serious side effects include; constipation, drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, nausea, sweating, and vomiting. Morphine is a very addictive drug. …show more content…

When you stop taking morphine after a while of regular daily dosing you would expect to go through withdrawal. Withdrawal happens when a direct physical dependence n a drug. That is why same body parts slow down while other speed up.
