Informative Speech On Lung Cancer

Lung cancer, also most popularly known as an early death sentence for the “crime” of smoking. However what most people don’t know is how it occurs and how it progresses throughout one’s life. Lung cancer is the number one killer in cancers like when in 1987 it surpassed breast cancer. So far an estimate of 158,040 people have gone seven feet under for it this year. In the past 15 years the number of deaths caused by it have increased by 3.5%. The best way to avoid being a victim is to not smoke, of course, and next to that is to know when it is time to go see the doctor. Lung cancer is a cancer that develops in the lungs and if left untreated. The cancer cells will spread to other parts of the body, mainly the liver and kidneys. The cancer is all around the lungs, only growing evermore. Their bones feel as if a knife is in them, occasional migraines everyday to where they have trouble balancing a budget they drop in weight as if they have eaten nothing, and of course they have difficulty breathing as less oxygen can be transferred into the bloodstream per breath. With their respiratory system failing, less blood is able to help the body function and even fight off the cancer cells. They become weaker to where they regret ever smoking. The last stage, a true death sentence, is nearly incurable and consists of the previous symptoms but even more extreme. Newer symptoms are less relevant to the lungs and respiratory system. These symptoms consist coughing up blood, constipation, drooping eyelid(s), problems with balance, and extreme overall weakness. Between barely being able to walk to the toilet with the constant taste of blood in their mouth as it gushes out, while every nerve aches with pain down to the bone, helping themselves is barely an option and unless they have a roommate that stops by, they continue towards the final stage of
