My disease is liver cancer, I chose liver cancer because I know a family member that has it. One fact about liver cancer is that in 2016 40,710 (29,200 men and 11,510 women) people had liver cancer. Another fact is that men are more likely to get liver cancer than women. If alcohol abuse runs in your family then you most likely to get liver cancer. One way to get liver cancer is from a birth defect, alcohol abuse, chronic infections with hepatitis B and C. If you do get liver cancer, it will damage the liver and you have to get a liver transplant. The only way you can get a transplant is if the liver that the doctors find or get will have to match your liver, if the liver doesn’t match then you won’t be able to get the transplant. And if you can’t get the transplant then you will have to get put on a list and months or even years. Liver cancer is viral disease caused by Burkitt’s lymphoma. …show more content…
MRI’s and CT scans are a way to see need to get the transplant is the doctor's scan you to see if there is something that is not supposed to be there. And if there is something there then they will tell you and try to take care about as soon as possible, but that won’t be right a way because there is always people on the waiting list for a transplant. And even if you are with a cancer patient and breathing the same air you won’t get cancer because all of the cancers are not
