Informative Speech On Hypnosis

35 year old Donna McMahon was terrified of water after an incident on a holiday when she was only 5 years old. She said, “I was on a water slide and another child pushed me down it and I was panicking the whole way down as I didn’t think my dad was going to catch me and that I was going to drown.” She had OCD or Obsessive compulsive disorder. She spent 1 hour to wash her hair in small sections even when she was in a very shallow bath. She needed help so she met with Robert Hisee, The Hypnotist man. She now goes to the swimming pools and the beaches and takes short showers. Today I will be talking about hypnosis. I have always wanted to know what hypnosis was and why it was even used. In the near future you may use hypnosis for sometype of a reason and if you do, wouldn’t you want to know how? In this speech you will learn about what is hypnosis, what the purpose of it is, and modern techniques of hypnosis.

There are different forms of hypnosis. One form of hypnosis is watching movies. When you are watching a movie you are only focused on what is happening in front of you and not what is happening around you. Another form of hypnosis is reading. When you are reading you are pretty focused on what is happening in the book. For example if your mom calls you when you are reading a book you may not realize that she is calling you because you are very focused. Therefore, you only see what is happening in front of you and don’t realize what is happening around you. Hypnosis works by putting the mind into relaxation techniques. Hypnosis doesn’t work everyone. For the people it doesn’t work for scientists how found that those people have less brain activity that is related to the parts of
