Do you drink energy drinks? Energy drinks are misleading and can cause serious side effects to your body. Many people who consume energy drinks don't even realize how unhealthy those beverages are. I`m here today to give our society factual information on how they can be harmful to your body. How do energy drinks give your body energy? Everyone loves the pump up feeling that the beverages give you, but no one knows how they actually give you energy. Energy drinks consume of sugar and caffeine, caffeine makes your body feel more energized by affecting your brain, while sugar refuels your body's cells and helps keep you physically active longer. Once caffeine reaches the brain, it crosses the blood-brain barrier and stimulates the brain cells(neurons) indirectly. Making the …show more content…
Generally refers to conditions that involve narrowed or blocked blood vessels that can lead to a heart attack, chest pain or stroke. This disease is interchangeable. (Gary Wickman, Long term effects) Osteoporosis is a disease where decreased bone strength increases the risk of a broken bone. Many bodies in the United States have came up as evidence that indicate the correlation between caffeine and the onset of and rate in which osteoporosis starts forming in the body. Researches believe this happens because caffeine promotes the loss of calcium in bones. Bones need calcium to keep strong and last a lifetime. There is one more long term consequence of consuming energy drinks which is high blood pressure, energy drinks may create high blood pressure in some consumers body because of the high rate of caffeine consumed in the beverages creating your heart rate to increase creating high blood pressure.
