Specific Purpose: To inform my audience on the treatment of diabetes, type 1, type 2 and gestational

Introduction: Imagine having a disease for the rest of your life such as diabetes. Diabetes has no cure, although it can be treated and controlled. Anyone living with diabetes can still do the things they love. This disease is manageable and the treatments aren’t so bad. They can make you feel healthy and be healthy as well.

Thesis/Preview:
Each type of diabetes -- type 1, type 2 and gestational – all have different and similar treatments.
I. Type 1 treatments
A. Taking insulin shots
1. Rapid-acting insulin
2. Long-action insulin
3. Intermediate options
B. Maintaining healthy weight
1. Eating healthy foods
2. Exercising regularly
