Introduction
Attention Getter: Everyone has friends and everyone knows what friends are, but what exactly is the definition of friendship?
Personal Credibility: One of my really close friends now used to be an acquaintance to me up until senior year of high school even though we knew each other since elementary. Since then we’ve been spending a lot of time together. I feel that since our relationship has grown I can trust her more because of our communication and time spent to know each other. Because of the bond that we have, we trust each other with our personal problems.

In a published article “ Types of friendships” by Susan James, she defines what makes each friendship different from another
Friendship of utility exist between you and someone who is useful to you in some way. For instance, perhaps you're friendly with your classmate mainly because she gives you answers to assignments and vice versa. Friendship of pleasure exist between you and those whose company you enjoy. Often, these are people with whom you do things like shopping, grabbing lunch, or go on spontaneous adventures with. Lastly there’s friendship of the good which are based on respect and admiration.
