Attention Getter: One of the greatest inventions of this generation is social media, which can either shape you as a person or ruin your reputation. How many people in this room have some type of social media outlet?
Relevancy with Audience: By the vast majority of the room who raised their hands it 's safe to say that we have all ran into this miraculous system. Social media has its advantages and disadvantages and I am here to tell you what some of them are.
Credibility statement: I myself am an avid facebook junkie and tweeter but I think that is almost every person who has access to internet. Many things have flourished with the use of social media but many things have also diminished.

Linkedin is another website different from facebook and is made for companies and workers within an environment who needs to share and receive important documents that are secured.
Both of these websites are prime examples of social networking in two different environments or groups of people.
Social media is so common in this era. people have apps and websites on every device possible, being able to hold a world of knowledge in your hands and also being able to connect to anybody is why we believe cellphones were created.
Cell phones are referenced with social media outlets which allows users to connect at any time.
Within these past years Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram and many more apps have risen to the top showing the charts that networking is growing rapidly.

Brendan Koerner author of How twitter and facebook make us more productive, published in February of 2010 states, 1.5% of office productivity is shaved off because of the availability of social network. Now that we can have tablets, cell phones, laptops and computers at our work people have found loopholes to skip their actual work and update their facebook profiles.
Lastly I would like to inform you all on the positives of social media, how it influences our daily lives and make it easier for us.
Federal, state and local law enforcement professionals added a twitter tracking unit that is used to find criminals that brag about their crimes.
Having Law enforcement find a way to stop crimes before they happen is amazing for our society.
