Sadly, in the next 18 minutes while doing presentation, four Americans that are alive will be dead from the food that they eat. That was a famous opening line in a speech once. And it is truth. America is the centre of an obesity epidemic. 1 in every 3 American adult is obese and 1 in every 6 child is obese. These are scary numbers. That is the same as roughly 116.000.000 overweight Americans. If we take a look at Europe there aren’t nearly as many overweight people as there are in the United States. The children need to burn some calories during school or otherwise they will just come home and sit on the couch. The politicians need to take bigger actions against the problem before it is beyond repairing. The United States can learn from other countries such as Denmark were gym classes is obligatory 4 hours a week in public schools. To prevent the obesity diseases, children should live with healthy lifestyle habits, which will help to lower the risk of becoming obese and other diseases. This includes eating healthy and engaging in physical activities. In the United States, schools can establish an environment that has policies and other practices which support a healthy lifestyle. The health of a person will depend on the childhood that person had and if one is active enough in the physical activities. Parents must therefore help their children and ensure that they are active enough and not lazy. Schools in the United States should also help create awareness and educate on how to prevent obesity by staying healthy.
