Debt can be a touchy subject to many people even though it is very common in America today. I think an interesting topic for a research essay could be the effects that debt has had on families in America. Debt has become very ingrained in American society and it’s hard to meet someone that does not have some sort of debt. I know from personal experience that debt has affected many people in my family. Both of my sisters for example are paying off student loans and will be for a long time to come. I also have family members that have created large credit card debts for themselves.
