Informative Essay What is White Supremacy? White Supremacy is the belief that the white race is the dominant or superior of all races, especially towards the black race. Whites believing they should dominate society. The emerging abolitionist act in 1800s incarnated and made white Supremacy rise when the whites were trying to keep control of all whites in the southern states although many white supremacists are not associated in hate groups but rather consider themselves unaffiliated individuals. There are five components in the Supremacist movement starting with the Neo Nazis, Racist Skinheads, “Traditional” White Supremacists, Christian Identity Adherents, and White Supremacist Prison Gangs. They engage in terrorist plots, acts, and conspiracies. Supremacists are known to cause the most lethal violence in the country. In the past ten years they have committed about 83% of extremist related murders in the United States. The reasons behind these several murders were ideological. They also have a 52% percent involvement in shootouts with the police for example at a Trump rally in Charlottesville a hate group started a shootout in order to escape .These criminals have a high degree in traditional and ideological criminal activity not only do they murder but they also manipulate people into believing in the hate they …show more content…
The Supremacist was a young man named Dylann Roof who is in his early 20s. He opened fire inside the church, killing 9 black people. He sat with this group of people for about Fifteen minutes during their Bible study before he fired off 70 rounds with a Glock 45. He said he carefully studied the town and the church acting alone in this crime he considered “political”. Polly Shepard a woman who also attended the church was the last witness and the one who made the call to 911. He told the FBI agents during his confession it was something “he had to do” there were even letters he wrote to his mother stating the same thing. He claims his awakening came during the Trayvon Martin case in Florida, another young African American male who was fatally shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer. Roof was sentenced with the death penalty. White Supremacy isn’t something to take lightly. Many people take offense to this group of people. Many whites are also sick of people being so hateful and racist. All lives matter, not just whites. Everyone is here for a reason, and nobody’s life deserves to be taken just because they are different. These people won’t get it through their head because they think they are always in the right. Violent attacks, shootouts, and protests are central in the lives of the people just so they could take out a race
