Informative Essay On Wearing Seatbelts

Decent Essays
When it comes to choose a topic, I think wearing seat belts was the right topic because there is so many good facts about it that I wanted to inform the audience about. However, when it comes for me to deliver the speech, it didn’t go exactly as I wanted to go due to the fact I made some changes at the last minute. Nonetheless, I think I did good overall. I was very confident, I was not nervous nor scared, and I had a good eye contact with the audience. For improvement, I think one thing I need to improve is my proof reading. One way to do that is to make sure I completed my work a day or two before it due, so I can have more time to go over it and make sure there is no mistake before I present it. Anyways, I think the audience reacted well

Secondly I thought I did very well with my volume, rate, and vocal variety. My goal is to persuade you that seat belt laws are a prime example of government overstepping its bounds, chipping away at our right to freedom, and generating revenue in the process. Anything you do in life contains some element of risk. Sensible people understand that and act accordingly, because most people do not want to be a casualty. Adult drivers should know the probability of risk in driving, and be able to make their own choices as to how best to handle the situation.…

Would you want to have your life in danger?, well wearing a helmet is simply safer. In 1992, the state of California passed the helmet law and helmet use jumped from 50% to 99%, causing accident fatalities to decrease by 37%. However, wearing helmets could have more things that come along than just survival, but it helps more people, money wise. When an uninsured motorcyclist is injured in an accident, public funds often pay for the riders emergency care and people that can't pay, won't get neglected. Final Persuasive Speech Reflection Believe me when I say that my progress from then to now has come a long way. Initially after giving the persuasive speech, I felt that there has been little process in all of this time that I had spent trying to learn to communicate more effectively. When operating our vehicles, it should be done as safely as possible because it is essential to everyone’s safety, but more often drivers become preoccupied with everything from loud music, applying makeup, eating food, and most commonly utilizing their cell phones.
