Vet techs do so many things for an animal hospital that people overlook and don’t see as necessary to the clinic. People think that all vet techs do all day is entertain kittens and puppies all day while the vet does all the work with checking the animals and making sure it gets the right kind of medication that it needs. But that is not completely true, vet techs do so much more than entertaining kittens and puppies. They benefit the veterinarian by assisting them in any kind of way that they can. Vet techs clean the kennels and the rooms where they check the patient after each time an animal has been in the kennel or room. All these prophylactic measures are directed towards the safety and hygiene of the other patients. When you go into …show more content…
But the question that is really important to the vet tech is “what types of problems or concerns does your pet have?” When vet techs check your pet after getting all the information and background that they need they search in similar locations that your doctor would look at if you were getting a check-up. They also check certain places that you have mentioned before that concerned you, the owner. If there is something that concerns the vet tech they will make note of it and tell the veterinarian. Sometimes this means that when they tell the veterinarian the concerns that the have about the pet this might lead to vet and the vet techs to taking blood, skin, ear, and different types of samples depending on what they are concerned about. Now i bet you think that it is the veterinarian that takes all those different samples and run tests. When in fact it is the veterinarian technician that runs those tests and gives the results the the veterinarian to tell the owner. If the test comes back positive for anything the vet will look at the history of the pet to see what kind of medicine to give it that will help it, yet at the same time not cause something else to happen to the
