On October 1st, 2015 someone we will not mention: opened fire at Umpqua Community College killing 9 people and 9 injured. Eighty nine percent of school shooting are assembled at Universities with a student body averaging of about twenty five hundred students. For the shooting to occur at a community college hit too close to comfort at Northern Maine Community college.
This fatal attack has open numerous debates on gun laws, regulations, and safety precautions. With round the clock media attention, it is hard to ignore the fatal attacks and the media surrounding it. With the constant conversations, this situation should not instill fear into citizens, but a chance to talk openly about the safety precautions around our school.
