Paul George once said “If you ain”t got a mindset to win. If you’re happy being second I can’t deal with you.” Through out Paul Georges career he has faced many challenges and obstacles to get were he’s at now. Like most professional athletes Paul Georges mindset was to win and be the best at what he does. But those dreams were put on hold when he had one of the most gruesome leg injuries in the NBA.
Paul George was born May 2 1990 in the city of Palmdale California to Paul George senior and Paulette Ann George. Paul George started playing basketball at a very young age. Rumor has it that Paul George first started playing basketball at the YMCA in jean shorts. “They were pants and he cut em into shorts” said his sister Teoisha George. He goes up… SNAP! The audience goes silent as they see Paul George fall to the ground and doesn’t get back up. “It just felt like a burning sensation in my leg.” Paul George said. The NBA trainers rush over there to try to assist Paul. This was the beginning of a long year of recovery for Paul.
Paul George said in his bleacher report interview that for the first three weeks it was just hard for him to move around. “I had to depend on everybody” he said. “I felt I was immortal I felt I was invincible.” Paul George went through months of rehab trying to get back to were he is now. A NBA superstar somebody who can carry a team to the highest level. A role model on and off the court.
There are many more story’s of how people have over came obstacles that a lot of people would have gave up on, but Paul made up his mind that was going to come back and dominate the NBA. As he told his father “dad when I come back imma come back a beast.” And that’s what he did. So when you fall just know there’s always room to get back
