Hi Professor Gulley,

Paralegals are very educated with certifications which allows them to be able to assist the public with legal matters. They also work hands on with many attorneys and can shadow them and help with day to day cases. On the other hand a Member Service admin would not be able to view cases nor be able to give any advice because we are not licensed to do so.

Many Paralegals can go to school to obtain their certificate and some meet the requirements so they do not have to go to school. Being a Member Services admin does not require you to obtain a certificate or degree. With working at the State Bar I've heard good and bad things about Paralegals when it comes to our complaints department. Many try to act like attorneys and
